What is CPD?

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to the learning activities professionals engage in to improve and grow their skills.

Why is real estate CPD training important?

How long will it take you to receive your certificate or licence? It may have happened last year, two years ago, or ten years ago. Do you recall everything you have learnt so far? Is what you learnt still relevant and correct, or has legislation and practice evolved?

A career as a real estate agent is both important and difficult. Should someone become a licenced agent ten years ago and has never had any training. Despite many regulatory, technical, and practice changes, can they be trusted with such important jobs? Of course not. CPD points for real estate NSW training is in place to keep you and your customers safe. It keeps you informed about recent law changes, industry practices, and new trends. But if you think it is just a compulsory tick box, you are not doing it right. Few professionals are allowed to improve their skills and learn continually and train in the latest industry trends to better themselves and create future career prospects. Similarly, one of the most common concerns of employees in other industries is a lack of continual training.

Categories

Agents must achieve 60 points throughout a three-year CPD cycle, or 20 points every year. Education and training are required, while the other categories are optional.

Corporate social investment

Corporate social investment is also a five-point optional that can be taken once a year. This category includes activities with an internal sector focus and is used to expand existing and new businesses within the sector. Externally focused activities are carried out to enhance public knowledge of the property sector or estate agency as a professional path, a source of wealth, and a value store. Donating funding to charities, building internal schools for previously disadvantaged students, and employing interns from previously poor areas are all examples of corporate social investment operations.

Education and training

Do you think education and training are needed for real estate? All education and training obtained through SAQA-accredited qualifications and attendance of short courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops, both in-house and external, are included in education and training. The focus must be on content specific to real estate in general and estate agencies in particular. This category also offers points for participation by estate agents as lecturers, facilitators, or contributors. In this category, agents must get 15 CPD points per year, for 45 points across the three-year CPD cycle.

Reading and publishing involve reading relevant and acceptable material about real estate in periodicals, academic journals, industry magazines, books, and reliable websites. It also entails the publication of articles in the same journals. This elective category can only earn five CPD points each year.

Professional development

Professional development is a class that you can attend if you want. It includes activities contributing to the practitioner's development in the estate agency and property sectors. This category is limited to a maximum of five points each year.

Bottom Line:

Personal development refers to activities that help you gain new information and abilities that are not necessarily related to your CPD goals. Each year, this elective category is allowed five CPD points for real estate NSW. The above listed is everything you should need to know about CPD points real estate.
